You may know that Wing Chun uses a vertical fist punch, but do you know why?
Unique from other martial arts, Wing Chun strikes with the bottom two knuckles. Most other martial arts punch horizontally with the top two knuckles. Structurally, the vertical fist that hits with the bottom knuckles is stronger. In fact, before gloves were invented, bareknuckle boxers also punched with a vertical fist.
